For 2010, Paradigm will continue to support community service organizations to which we have historically been committed. Due to the response of our employees, we will recommit ourselves in community service through our Pay-It-Forward campaign. This initiative places resources and ideas back into the hands of individual employees to expand our caring for others beyond the workplace - directly to individuals and families in our communities. Paradigm will continue its strong support of programs such as the United States Marine Corps' Toys for Tots Program, Pentagon Memorial Fund, Habitat for Humanity, and the Lymphoma Leukemia Society. Paradigm's community service programs provide employees with a way to interact and help others as well as strengthen the Paradigm team spirit by building relationships that extend beyond the workplace and into the communities where we live and work.

Paradigm Supports Haiti Relief Fund On January 21, 2010, Paradigm Technologies, Inc. (Paradigm) donated over $21,000 to provide Humanitarian Relief assistance for victims of the Haiti Earthquake. Collectively, Paradigm employees made personal donations totaling $11,078 and the company matched the first $10,000 of contributions for a total of $21,078. These resources were donated today to the American Red Cross and CARE Organization specifically for Haiti Earthquake relief efforts. Paradigm employees enthusiastically respond by donating school supplies, backpacks, store gift cards and other items. With our support, UCM helps to get children in the community off to a good start by filling backpacks with grade appropriate items. With UCM’s help, many children can start the school year off with the right supplies and can focus on classes! United States Marine Corp's Toys for Tots Program Paradigm has supported the United States Marine Corp's Toys for Tots drive for the last three years. This year, Paradigm employees brought in hundreds of unwrapped Christmas gifts for children in need in the DC Metropolitan area in support of the United States Marine Corps' Toys for Tots Drive. In addition to the employees' donations, Rob Koch, Paradigm's CEO, each year matches each gift with a Paradigm company gift allowing Paradigm's contributions to make an even greater impact on the lives of area children! Paradigm's Huntsville, AL office collected a lot toys too! Pentagon Memorial Fund's Golf Tournament. Paradigm helps sponsor an annual golf tournament in support of the Pentagon Memorial Fund. The Fund was established after 9-11 to help raise funds to build a memorial outside of the Pentagon in remembrance of the lives lost that day. The company lends support to the Fund and helped raise thousands of dollars while enjoying a beautiful day outside and a great round of golf!

To accompany Paradigm's Summer Picnic, Paradigm selected the United Community Ministries (UCM) “Back to School” supply drive as our community service activity. Paradigm employees donated backpacks, school supplies and other “back to school” items to help UCM provide support to over 600 needy children in Northern Virginia. UCM is a private, non-profit, community-based social service agency. Its mission is to assist families and individuals to improve the quality of their lives in a manner that builds their self-esteem and fosters their ability to function at the greatest level of their capacity - socially, economically and emotionally.
Paradigm employees volunteered with Habitat for Humanity of Northern Virginia (HFHNV) to help build houses for Habitat's Briarwood Trace Project Overview, a project HFHNV started with the Christopher Companies in order to build four detached single-family homes for qualified Fairfax County low-income families. The homes are located near the Vienna/Fairfax Metro station, off Nutley Street between Interstate 66 and Lee Highway. Over several days of community service, the employees nailed, hammered, and helped build beautiful new homes and new lives for families in need. It was wonderful experience for all those who participated and hopefully will be a reoccurring activity for years to come.
