War Memorial

Over Labor Day I had a chance to visit the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford Virginia.  There was a very long line of cars waiting for admission. When my turn came, I decided to pay for the next four cars behind me.  I didn’t know who they were.

After I parked to enter the memorial, several people approached me with money in hand wanting to repay me. They definitely had puzzled looks on their faces.  I explained to them that they could not pay me back, but they could Pay-It-Forward.  I explained what our company was doing with Pay-It-Forward and asked that they consider helping at least three people who are in need.  All of them said that they would and several of the individuals stayed with me for the next two hours as we discovered the memorial.  I really enjoyed getting to know them that day.
